Dear PLES Half Day Kindergarten Parents,
Effective immediately whenever district 38 calls a 2 hour delayed start half day kindergarten students will attend school.  In an effort to provide more instructional time for our half day kindergarten students, we will be shifting half day kindergarten start and end times when there is a 2 hour delayed start due to inclement weather.  When a delayed start is announced, half day kindergarten students will begin their day with all elementary students at 10:45 a.m. and end at 2:00 p.m. If half day kindergarten students are bus-riders, they will continue to ride the bus in the morning as normal.  On delayed start days, half day kindergarten students will end their day at 2:00 p.m.   Lunch will not be provided, therefore, students will need to bring a substantial snack. Parents will need to pick up half day kindergarten students at 2:00 p.m. and provide transportation.  This change does not affect full day kindergarten students. Full day kindergarten time will remain 10:45 a.m. till 3:45 p.m.
We hope this altered schedule will provide you with an option that works for your family.
SCHOOL BOARD / COMMUNITY COFFEE
On Wednesday, March 11, from 6:30-8:00pm, the LPSD Board of Education will host a public coffee for stakeholders in the Tri-Lakes community.  Parents, business owners, and other interested citizens are invited to join the Board members for coffee and informal discussion during this time.  This event will be held in the Learning Center in the D-38 Administration Building.
